Hot rolled steel
Hot rolled coil steel is produced by passing a hot steel slab through a rolling mill to create steel coils. This processes utilises rollers applied to the hot steel which shape and form the metal, defining its characteristics and providing a uniform shape and gauge.
How is hot rolled steel supplied?
Hot rolled material is sold typically in either dry form or picked and oiled (P&O). This is where the steel is passed through a process that removes scale, leaving a clean surface finish which is treated with oil to prevent corrosion during storage.
